Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled products contain methyl eugenol above the maximum concentration outlined in the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist. Methyl eugenol is prohibited as a pure ingredient on the Hotlist due to its potential for carcinogenicity but is permitted as a naturally occurring component in botanical extracts with specific limits depending on the product type. As of January 6th, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Components can come loose inside the unit and be ejected, posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders.   As of December 16th, 2025, the company has received no reports of injuries or incidents in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 54 reports of incidents and no reports of injury. 

These products do not meet the Cosmetic Regulations in Canada. Specifically, the products do not have mandatory hazard labelling. The products are missing required hazard symbols, signal words on the front of the containers and safety information. Improper labelling could result in misuse of the product and lead to serious injury. As of January 5, 2026, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injury.

The recalled product does not meet the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The lack of child-resistant packaging could result in unintended exposure to the products and lead to serious illness, injury or death. As of December 22, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The Craftsman V20 150W Power Inverter does not meet requirements under the CSA Standard 107.1 Power Conversion Equipment and may produce inconsistent outputs, which poses a fire hazard. As of December 19, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The recalled products do not meet the labelling and the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
